By it's very nature, Nascar is pretty boring. Monotonous left turns for 3 straight hours. I'm a NASCAR fan, but I really will only watch a race the last 20 laps. Anything before that is like watching a Spurs-Rockets game in November. Meaningless. All of the top drivers pace themselves and just try to keep from wrecking the first 2 1/2 hours. You can be in first place the entire race, crash on the last lap...finish 40th!
So...the Nascar marketing masterminds must spin their web of intrigue. That is where the Tony Stewart vs. Kurt Busch soap opera begins.

Remember when the Patriots were supposed to go 19-0? Well, some kids in Nicaragua got to enjoy some keep Pats 19-0 gear. Thanks Patriots, first SpyGate and now your throwing off your faulty clothing to some third world kids?

They are the ones that will be on all the magazines come August. We all thought it would be Larry Johnson and Frank Gore. It wasn't. Now those guys will fall into the sleepers category. Biggest surprises were probably Jamal Lewis and Earnest Graham.

Alright B-Ballers! Polish off those outrageous new Jordans you bought for $230 and fire up the video camera. Rudy Gay of the Memphis Grizzlies (yes they have an NBA team) is asking for your help to win this years Sprite NBA Slam Dunk contest. Rudy says he'll pick the best YouTube dunk submitted and then copy it as his dunk for the contest.

Nike will be releasing their latest Air Jordan sneaker, the XX3. It's not just any sneaker, though. Like Jordan, it will be number 23. Nike boasts that this 23rd edition of the ever so popular Air Jordans is the best basketball shoe ever made. It's also "green". Who cares! Rumors are that this will be the last Air Jordan edition made. Ya, right!
Michael Jordan was asked if this is it. His reply to the AP, "You'll have to wait and see." What does that mean? You'll have to wait and see if he has any gambling debt in the future, if so, let's make another round!

As I watched the Cowboys vs. Giants game today I found myself rooting for the Giants. I'm not a fan of either team, but do tend to root for the Manning brothers. Brother, Peyton lost earlier in the day, which I don't blame because he had to try and put together a last minute scoring drive without the help of either Marvin Harrison or Reggie Wayne. He still almost pulled it off.
It was good to see Eli step it up and shake that crazy monkey off his back. Eli and the Giants defeated the Bucs last weekend and the favored Cowboys this past Sunday. For once, Eli has stolen the limelight from older brother Peyton.
I'd like to see what Tiki Barber has to say now! Despite what the Giants do next weekend in Green Bay, I still credit Eli with defeating many odds and shutting some people up. I'll be pulling for Eli.
Coming to theatres on April 8th, Leatherheads is a movie starring George Clooney, John Krasinksi and Renee Zellweger. The trailer was just released (see below) and looks to be a great football movie. It's set in the 1920's and is about how a young, football sensation (Krasinkis) steals America's heart, but also team Captain Dodge Connolly's fiance.
This looks to be a fun football film, but the timing of the release is really bad. Why would you release a football film the opening week of baseball? Here's the trailer:

Apparently, fans have figured out how to beat the Dallas Cowboys. Is it to stop T.O.? NO. Is it to control the clock and keep their offense off the field? NO. Maybe a good strategy would be to take advantage of a rookie on their defense? Wrong Again. Opponents of the Cowboys have created a website with a can't lose strategy. Ruin Romo.
